The Collegiate Championship Series Returns!

With the summer sun setting, Fall brings new challenges, new opportunities and new rivalries to push esports to the next extreme!

July Recap

We had thrilling competitions in each of our Smash Bros and Rocket League tournaments. While the west dominated the Smash Bros bracket, with Simon Fraser University’s Jameson “Cube” Crawford reigning supreme, and UNBC making their collegiate esports debut through Franz “Pantry” Aebischer, and UBC’s Aiden “Shrapnel” Chau coming in third.

Meanwhile in Rocket League, St Clair College Saints Gold and Green teams took the first and second place, making a clear statement that they are ready to take the Collegiate Champions Series by storm, followed close behind by the Ryerson Rams.

Now, new challenges await, with storylines and rivalries growing each day!

This clash of the collegiate titans kicks into a new gear on Sept 18th, with the debut of League of Legends in the Collegiate Championship Series. Grab your team of 5 and make the best back to school statement by taking your slice of the $1500 scholarship pool for League of Legends this Sept 18th at 11am PST.

Returning by popular demand is our Rocket League series, with an increased scholarship pool of $2500. Some teams will have to race to keep their crown, while others will be aiming to score some new goals.

With the stakes even higher, will St Clair remain at the lead, or will new schools give them a run for the scholarship money? Enter the fray on September 25th to find out!

For each of these games, remember, every student that takes part in our events also gains a point for their school in the School Spirit Tech Upgrade contest. That’s $10,000 on the line here!

Lastly for September, our workshops kick-off on September 15th, with each student attending those also gaining points for their school. Not only will you learn essential skills to go further in the esports world, and to build your career even higher. Workshop links go live this week, so keep in the know! September is the defining moment for the Champs Series tournaments and the introduction of new activities like our workshops. This is one back-to-school session you don’t want to miss.

Don’t forget in December, you’ll have the chance to bring your own innovative and powerful ideas to the fold, for the chance to win one of two $5,000 scholarships and an internship at TGS Esports.
