TGS July Wrap-Up

TGS July Wrap-Up

With the end of July drawing near, here is a summary of what we have been up to this month!

Covid Care Collective Fundraiser

In support of fellow Canadians that have been affected by COVID-19, we held a 10-hour fundraising stream on July 4th via Twitch, featuring an awesome cast of Canadian streamers including Christaborg, Artren, Spartysmallwood, Asikaa, and Crashkoeck.  All funds raised during the event went to the Covid Care Collective; a non-profit, community-based initiative that helps Canadian families who are struggling to obtain food and other necessities.

With support from our community and event sponsors (Crunchyroll and Shaw) we raised $3,200 by the end of the event! Once again, we thank everyone that tuned into the stream and helped support the cause.

Teamfight Tactics June Circuit Invitational – Powered by 7-Eleven

In partnership with 7-Eleven, we held weekly TFT tournaments throughout June using our circuit point system. Players competed throughout the month to gather points and the top 8 at the end of June were invited to our invitational, which was held on July 18.

Here were our top 8 players:

*Epicure, Wrackle, and TrainingAcount2 were unable to participate in the finals and were replaced by  Effen, Coolwhip, and Avie.

After 7 fierce battles, the winners of the invitational were:

1st – Effen

2nd – THG

3rd – CoolWhip

We’d like to congratulate all the winners as well as once again thank 7-Eleven for sponsoring the event!

Rocket League Summer Circuit

There is still one more event left in the month for the Rocket League Summer Circuit, but here are the current standings:

With the accumulation of points over both June and July, the standings are tight in the top 8 cut off, but on the upper half the players have solidified their position. We look forward to seeing how the circuit wraps up with the invitational happening in August!

Go here to sign up for the last tournament of the circuit coming up this Wednesday, July 29th at 6:30 PM PDT!

Valorant

Riot’s new FPS title, Valorant, has received tons of interest since its launch in in June. We held two online tournaments with free entry and a $250 prize pool this month. Congrats to the top teams:

July 18th

1st – Schove (and team)

2nd – Kodiak (and team)

July 25th

1st – ATHAIM

2nd – Never Settle

To further support the increasing interest in Valorant, we will be holding a bigger event in August. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
