Our events team is hard at work in providing you the best gaming experience at The Gaming Stadium, and we’re excited to share with you some of our upcoming projects! For this month, look forward to experiencing new ways that we host events: larger prize pool tournaments for popular games, exclusive drop-in specials, more partnered events, and more!

Keep an eye out for separate updates on our drop-in programs, as well as our venue rental services! For now, game on!”

Bash Fest

The Gaming Stadium and Tourism Burnaby present BashFest, Burnaby’s premiere gaming event. BashFest will feature tournaments including CS:GO, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and more!

The complete list of tournaments, their times, and their prize pools can be found on the registration page at https://smash.gg/tournament/bashfest! Here’s a breakdown of the venue fees:

  • 3 Days
    • Regular – $50: Book before February 15, 2020 (PC Before: Feb. 1, 2020)
    • Late/Onsite – $60 (PC Before: Feb. 16, 2020)
  • 1 Day
    • Regular – $35: Book before February 15, 2020
    • Late/Onsite – $45

New Weeklies

Last month, we introduced Halo and Call of Duty weeklies to our roster. We are excited to build upon their growing community, and will be keeping these weeklies around for another month! Here’s the roster for our February weeklies:

  • Wednesdays: TFT (circuit), Overwatch, and Rocket League
  • Thursdays: MTG:A and COD
  • Fridays: Fortnite, Halo, Pokemon
  • Sundays: CS:GO and TFT (circuit)

February Circuits

Fortnite

We’re going to be nerfing Fortnite circuits this month due to the limited available Friday dates. Here is a break-down of the schedule for February Fortnite dates:

  • February 7th: January Fortnite Circuit Invitational
  • February 14th: Solos at 6:00PM, Duos Squads at 8:00PM
  • February 28th: Duos at 6:00PM, Solo Box Fights 8:00PM

As mentioned above, TGS will be closed February 20th to February 24th for our BashFest event! For more information, check out our BashFest event page.

Teamfight Tactics

As usual, we will continue to run the Teamfight Tactics circuit on Wednesdays and Sundays! We will be hosting our January TFT Circuit Invitational on Sunday, February 2nd. Interested in scoping out the competition? Meet the TFT community by joining our public Discord server.

Upcoming Events at TGS

February 9th: Secondary Showdown

Celebrate the beginning of Season 10 with your peers at our first ever League of Legends High School tournament! To celebrate our challengers, we’ll be providing supplies to help cheer on your favourite team. From fan-made posters to IRL League emotes, we’ve got you covered! We’ll be giving out TGS and League merch throughout the day.

 

 

February 14th: Duo Queue

It’s that time of year where we appreciate those who we truly love: our duo partners!  Join us for our first ever Valentine’s Day drop-in special. Bring your in-game or IRL partners and enjoy a casual night of drop-ins and holiday-themed festivities. Each admission comes with a Valentine’s Day gram, a bingo sheet, and a sweet treat! Participate in activities throughout the night to earn raffle tickets for our prize giveaway!

 

The Gaming Stadium will be at FanExpo Vancouver this year! Join us at the Vancouver Convention Centre from February 15th-17th, and check out our booth! Come compete at our Mario Kart 8 Time Trials for a chance to win some sweet prizes!

 

 

Join The Gaming Stadium for our first ever viewing party of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards! We’ve partnered up with Crunchyroll to give you the best viewing experience possible! We have a variety of different activities running throughout the day: Osu Tournament, Just Dance 2020, Mario Kart Deluxe, Cosplay Photo shoot, Trivia, and more!

 

The Gaming Stadium is hosting an osu! meetup and tournament for the local community on Saturday, February 15th. We’ll have our LAN room filled with high end PCs to play your favorite rhythm game as well as a tournament that starts at 1 PM. This is the perfect time to come out, meet the community, and show off your skills or learn from the best!

 

 

The Rainbow Six: Siege Six Invitational 2020 is here! Watching high level gameplay is one thing, but we wanted to give local teams a chance to get in on the action with our biggest R6 tournament so far, boasting a whopping $2000 prize pool. Not interested in the tournament but still want to hang out and watch S.I.? We’ll be doing a viewing party alongside this event!
