TGS Patch 1.5: November Upcoming Events

TGS Patch 1.5: November Upcoming Events

“Hello gamers, and welcome back to the TGS Patch notes!

We’ve had a great October, and there was a lot of good feedback on the new initiatives we introduced. This month’s patch notes are more of a “mini patch” aimed to fix and adjust notes from previous months. We’re taking time to focus on perfecting our existing events to prepare for thew new changes 2020 has to offer.

This month is the month of collaborations; we are teaming up with UBCEA, SFU, and Variety to host a “variety” of events, from viewing parties to tournaments. On top of this, we are partnering with Meeple Leaf to bring a new weekly event: Tabletop Thursdays at TGS! Make sure to keep an eye out on both our website as well as our Facebook page for more updates regarding these events.”

TGS Weeklies

The weeklies received a bit of the nerf this month, as we have taken Tuesdays out of the weeklies roster. Now, both Monday and Tuesday will only be open for the drop-in program. While everyone is encouraged to come in and play during those days, we will not be dedicating those days to a specific game or event. In addition to this, Minecraft will no longer be a featured event on Wednesday. Anyone can come in and play Minecraft during drop-ins, however it will no longer have its own dedicated day.

Tabletop Thursdays at TGS

We are excited to announce a new addition to the TGS roster: Tabletop Thursdays! We are happy to partner up with Meeple Leaf to bring tabletop to The Gaming Stadium. These events are open to anyone, regardless of their skill level or familiarity with board games. In addition to the weekly open-play, we will be organizing additional events such as Toonie Tournaments and D&D workshops, ran by yours truly. Also, due to popular demand, we will be offering free drop-in D&D sessions every Thursday at 7:00PM! Space is limited and will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

TGS Circuits

In October, we decided to take the feedback from our first month of Fortnite circuits and create a new series of circuit play. We are happy with the direction the Fortnite and TFT circuits are moving towards, so for the time being we will continue to keep to our monthly circuits. We are looking to longer seasonal circuits in the future, as well as the potential for more circuit additions in the future. For the time being, however, there are no substantial changes to our two primary circuits.

TGS Drop-ins: After School Program

It’s been just over a month since we’ve introduced our drop-in program, and we’ve been happy with the community response so far. One of the things that has been requested is to extend the drop-ins to the weekend. Now, the LAN is available for drop-ins from 12PM to 10PM during the weekends!

Please note that the availability on the weekend is dependent on the events and tournaments running that day. If you’re interested in dropping by, make sure you call ahead of time so a staff member can confirm that day’s availability.
